Founded in 1902, Camp Cobbossee is one of the oldest continuously run boys camps in the country. Cobbossee is the "home away from home" for 225 boys each summer. Cobbossee is located in Monmouth, Maine, 15 miles west of the capitol, Augusta. The campus is set on a half-mile of shoreline on magnificent Lake Cobbosseecontee. It is a classic setting for a "Maine" camp. Many of the Cobbossee traditions are carried on today by the children and grandchildren of Cobbossee alumni.
Cobbossee's boys range in age from 6 to 16. Approximately 6–12 campers and 2–3 counselors live together in each cabin. Many of the boys attend camp for 7–8 years, and consider their friends at Cobbossee their extended family. Camp Cobbossee is the place where our boys (and staff) make "Friendships for a lifetime!"
Each summer, campers new and old come to Cobbossee full of curiosity, spirit, enthusiasm, and energy. Cobbossee channels that energy and enthusiasm into the wide range of activities, helping each boy to succeed in whatever areas of interest he chooses to pursue. The camp's size allows for individual attention to our campers and guarantees that each boy feels that Cobbossee is his summer home. Individual attention, excellent sports instruction, and all-out fun and excitement are the hallmarks of a Cobbossee summer.
Cobbossee's campus has undergone an extensive renovation including renovated cabins, fresh landscaping, and a new indoor gymnasium.
Accredited by the American Camp Association.
