Named one of "5 Great Summer Camps" by the Boston Globe.
The Dorfman Family established Camp Walt Whitman as a high-quality summer camp imbued with a sense of community that sets it apart from other traditional coed camps. Campers experience a joy of living together, discover new skills, and develop an appreciation of the natural surroundings that have been "home" to Walt Whitman's campers for more than 50 years.
Camp Walt Whitman is nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire on crystal-clear Lake Armington. The campus offers extensive athletic and waterfront facilities, which include a heated swimming pool, hockey arena, clay tennis courts, manicured fields for team sports, ropes course, full boating program, and gymnastics pavilion, as well as complete fine and performing arts centers.
The staff is comprised of experienced, trained professionals, who are dedicated to instilling in campers the values which distinguish Walt Whitman's reputation. Boys and girls improve their sports skills, try their hand at pottery or water polo, become newspaper reporters, choreographers, archery aces, or work together on a theatre production.
The fun and adventures extend far beyond the campsite. Campers have an opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside—hiking, biking, overnight camping, or white-water rafting—on excursions that expand their horizons and improve their skills
Accredited by the American Camp Association.
